H.-J. Treis GmbH is a long-established company with its origins in Bremen. Since its founding in 1956, it has continuously adapted to economic developments while always keeping an eye on the future. Starting with real estate and insurance brokerage, the company has evolved into a modern real estate boutique that now provides its clients with comprehensive support – from the initial consultation through the purchase and successful sale of a property.

Our Story

Immediately after the Second World War, Johann Treis began working as a freelance insurance agent for various companies, laying the foundation for the company’s later development with great dedication. Together with his son, Hans-Joachim Treis, he founded Johann Treis KG, which was registered in the commercial register in 1956 and marked the official beginning of the company’s history. In addition to the traditional insurance and financing business, the company quickly expanded its portfolio to include real estate brokerage, thus setting the first milestones toward a broader portfolio.

In 1964, Hans-Joachim Treis & Co. was founded alongside the existing Johann Treis KG. From the outset, the company’s business areas included insurance, property management, and real estate brokerage. Hans-Joachim Treis also established himself as a public expert, significantly expanding the company’s range of services.

At the beginning of the 2000s, the company’s focus shifted noticeably. The insurance business increasingly took a back seat, while expert appraisal services, property management, and real estate brokerage gained increasing importance.

In 2009, Hans-Joachim Treis & Co. was converted into a limited liability company (GmbH). Since then, the company has operated under the name H.-J. Treis GmbH.

In 2013, Bärbel Treis, the third generation, took over management responsibility for the family business. Many years prior, she had already made a name for herself as an independent public appraiser and gained extensive experience in real estate valuation and appraisal. She now brought this in-depth expertise and her deep connection to the company’s history to the company’s leadership. With her arrival, the long family tradition was not only continued but also enriched with new ideas that further developed the company for the future.

Today, the family tradition is continued in its fourth generation: Frederik Maximilian Treis, another member of the family, joins the company and assumes the responsibility of leading the long-established history into a successful future. His expertise, previously acquired in Hamburg from various positions at MPC Capital and in fund management at Berenberg, further enriches the company, combining the values of tradition with the dynamics of modern financial and real estate markets.
